'To my Father'

2010 - ongoing

'Apunak'
'To my Father'

My Father has been a passionate hobby photographer ever since. Being a mechanical engineer, he has been especially fascinated by the technical possiblities of the machines and had a collection of over 100 analog cameras. He spent much of his evenings in his elderly years organizing and continuously fixing them.
One of his main beloved topics besides taking images of us, his children, has been flowers. He has boxes of undeveloped film rolls with images of flowers on them.
For my project i wanted to create a connection with past and present, demolish the concept of time through his fascinations. I used the possiblity of re-using his used films, and started to take self portraits on the films which were already exposed once, 2, 5, or even 10 years ago.

'Apunak' has been an ongoing series, a collaboration with himself. Below to be seen a small selection of this ongoing production.

My Father passed away in 2016, i am still working with some of his remained film rolls.
