It has been a long path through
photography until i recently arrived (back) to painting. My first pieces are reflecting
my love of abstract shapes, architecture and the colors of nature. I am
instinctively drawn to abstraction because of the freedom it implies, and my
work is influenced in particular by the formal experimentation at city-construction
sites and the invisible forces of nature in photography. There is a strong
contrast between the earth-toned shades of earlier photographs and the latest vibrant
colors in the paintings - these were influenced heavily by the atmosphere of
the tropical Bali, where i spent a year discovering new painting methods with
aquarelle and guache. The vibrant colors have a deep sound between transparency
and diffuse light, geometric and sometimes organic shapes. I tend to work
intuitively and spontaneously without an exact idea of where each piece will
end, preferring to let the process of creation itself direct the finished form
of the work.
